International Day of the Midwife!

International Day of the Midwife is celebrated around the world every year on 5th May At and event marking the day, Director of Nursing and User Experience, Brenda Creaney said "I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every Midwife working in Belfast Trust for the remarkable difference they make to the lives of mothers, babies and families.
"The International Confederation of Midwives’ theme for 2015 is ‘Midwives: for a better tomorrow’.  I am very proud of the contributions that Midwives in our Trust make to the work of this theme and, in particular, to their role in improving outcomes for those they serve."
This special day was also an opportunity to welcome the Trust’s recently appointed Head of Midwifery, Ms Brenda Kelly.  Excited about her new role, Brenda said "as a previous employee of the Trust, I am delighted to return to this very important role for Midwifery.  I have enjoyed my time here so far and feel privileged to be working as part of the team, with such a skilled, dedicated and vibrant group of Midwives".
